Admission to USA is highly competitive and we have to start preparing for that if we have an idea to study in USA. Processing of application differs from one university/college to another. So we have to apply for each university/college separately.

Application form should be submitted before the deadline of any university. The common application is the recommended form of 298 selective, independent colleges and universities for admission to their undergraduate programs. Many of these institutions use the form exclusively. All give equal consideration to the Common Application and the college's own form. The concept is simple: Students complete one Common Application, photocopy it, and send the form to any of the participating colleges. The procedure simplifies the college application process and eliminates duplication of effort. Colleges may require additional supplements to the common app and it’s the student’s responsibility to complete such information and mail (or send online) to meet all deadlines.

Once you have the appropriate test scores, you will need to review the admissions, application forms, transcripts from high school (or the foreign equivalent, along with an official US evaluation of the foreign credits), and sometimes an essay. Some schools also have their own admissions tests that you must take.
